Because of the danger of forest fires, all the leaves that fall in our yard have to be removed. We run the lawn mower several times a week (in the summer we use it only every two weeks or so for the grass) which chops up the leaves. We have to rake leaves from around the buildings and haul them off to various large piles that start to form. And we have to run our leaf blower to help keep the firebreaks clear.
This picture shows some Poplars down in a hollow with their golden leaves.

And this picture shows the luminous Oak leaves on a small sapling as seen from the House.

Molly is picking up sticks in the yard before the mower is run. Helping Molly are Viva to the left and Bobo barely visible behind Molly.
That is the Tool Shed behind Molly.

The Seasons
We’ve collected some photographs to show the four seasons in our woods.

Some photos taken during the late winter.
The
Great Morel Hunt
tells about Molly's and George's hunt for the Great
Morel Forest, a semi-mythical place briefly seen in Spring 2000.
We attempt to find it again.
